Notice is hereby given that a Special General Meeting (SGM) of the Petone Working Men’s Club & literary Institute will be held as follows:

Business of the Meeting
The purpose of this Special General Meeting is to consider and, if thought fit, pass the following resolution:
“That the members of the Petone Working Men’s Club approve the sale of part of the PWMC Property Investment Portfolio, on terms and conditions to be negotiated by the Property Directors, and that the Executive Committee be authorised to complete all necessary documentation and processes to give effect to this resolution.”
Explanatory Notes
The Executive Committee has undertaken a strategic review of the Club’s property investment portfolio as part of its ongoing commitment to financial sustainability, prudent asset management, and long-term stability for the Club and its members.
Following this review, the Committee considers that the proposed partial divestment represents a responsible and forward-looking step that will strengthen the Club’s balance sheet, improve liquidity, and position the organisation to respond to future opportunities and obligations.
Further detail regarding the specific property/properties and rationale will be presented at the meeting. Members will have the opportunity to ask questions prior to any vote being taken.
Eligibility to Attend and Vote
In accordance with the Club’s Constitution:
• Only financial members are entitled to attend and vote.
• Voting will be conducted as required under the Constitution.
Members are strongly encouraged to attend. Decisions relating to Club assets are significant and warrant full member engagement.
