Cancellation of the HVPC Main Event
Posted on March 21, 2024Due to ticket sales being slower than anticipated, we have had to make the hard decision to cancel the Hutt Valley Poker Champs $1200 Main Event game on Good Friday/Easter Sunday.
The price point and opinions expressed regarding rake means this version of the $100K guaranteed game won’t be offered in the future due to its unsustainability. For now, we will stick to the big weekend games that we already run. We hope that this withdrawal does not affect other games over the weekend.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank the players that have shown interest, the dealers who were prepared to give up their time and to all those who have helped behind the scenes with planning and running satellites.
There will be another game (class 2, $5K max) to replace this game on the Friday. All details for that will be up shortly.
For those that have paid, we will be contacting you in the next day so we can discuss your options.
Once again, we apologise for this withdrawal. We hope to see you at any of the other games being played around the Hutt Valley over Easter Weekend.
